Privacy Policy
What personal data this website processes, why, on what legal basis, for how long, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This website is run by AK Consulting, Alexander Kiel, Simone-De-Beauvoir Straße 45, 54294 Trier, Germany, the controller under the GDPR. For any privacy question, use the contact form. As a one-person business I have not appointed a data protection officer.
The site is hosted by Wix.com Ltd., Nemal Tel Aviv St. 40, Tel Aviv 6350671, Israel, which processes data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). When you open a page, Wix records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, your browser, operating system and device type. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Wix keeps these logs for 62 days. Fonts are served from Wix's own servers, not from Google.
If you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, company, project type, planned start and message, plus your role and location if you add them. I use this only to answer your enquiry and, if an engagement follows, to prepare and carry it out (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Submissions are stored in my Wix account and forwarded to my inbox. I delete enquiries that do not lead to an engagement after 24 months; business correspondence is otherwise kept for the statutory six or ten years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO).
Wix sets necessary cookies for security, load balancing and to remember your cookie choice; these do not need consent (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). Analytics only run if you agree in the cookie banner (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time under Cookie settings [link] in the footer, with effect for the future.
With your consent, I use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to see which pages are read, how visitors arrive and which devices they use. It processes pages viewed, time on page, clicks, referring site, browser, device, approximate location and a random cookie ID; full IP addresses are not stored. Data is kept for 24 months. I also use Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland) to find usability problems. Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as heatmaps and session recordings; text typed into forms is masked. Recordings are kept for 12 months and heatmap data for up to 24 months. Both providers act as my processors.
I do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Apart from the providers above, data only goes to authorities where the law requires it. Wix is based in Israel, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection. Google, Microsoft and some Wix sub-processors may process data in the USA; Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and other transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
You have the right to access, rectify or request the erasure of your personal data, restrict its processing, and receive your data in a portable format, where applicable. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, please contact me using the contact details provided above.
You do not need to provide any data to read this site; to answer an enquiry I need at least your name and email address. I do not use automated decision-making or profiling. I update this policy when the site or the law changes.
